You broached that baby and it got taco'd on a rock, didn't it? Admit it!

On the plus side- I don't think all the beefing of scantlings in the world would have helped in that situation, so I'm sure your build was great. I saw a royalex canoe with aluminum gunwales get severely bent, although not completely taco'd on a pretty minor thing at moderate flows week before last.
