Cyclone's are nice, not totally required though, for most woodworking a common dust blower works fine, moves a heck of alot more air than a common wet vac. Actually for many of us, working in basements, the idea of having a small fan ducted outside to cause a tiny vacuum on the basement is an excellent idea (someone on this forum came up with this, not me), keeps the dust down upstairs and keeps the smells downstairs. While I havn't done it yet, I'm going to be putting in a common bathroom exhaust fan and duct it out thru the outside wall thru a clothes dryer vent outlet. If anyone ever pays attention it might look a little odd to have a dryer vent on both sides of the house ;)
