I haven't finished the inside of the deck and hull, but am thinking of the hatches for my Great Auk 14. Nick's book suggests cutting out the hatches and doing the lips before attaching the deck to the hull. I am worried that if I do this, and then have to put stress on the deck to make sure it fits the hull, then the opening cut for the hatch might get distorted and the hatch cutout might not fit properly in the opening. Has anyone else run into this problem?
