: Sure, that'll work, I'd put the hatch ring in first, then install
: the bulkhead, easier. Has to be pre-fitted though, so no cutting
: after the ring is secured.

Thanks for your input. One last question.
Does hatch ring need to be glued to raw marine plywood or should I glass the plywood before glueing the ring ?

---cut hole for ring
---glue ring
---install bulkhead

---glass plwood bulkhead up to the ring on both sides
