Strip: Skeg control location

Nasty crosswinds are common so I am installing a retractible skeg on my latest build a Night Herring HD.

Where should the control be mounted? I am right handed so I figured the control box should be on the left side in between the shear line and the combing lip just forward of my hip location....Is this correct?
