I used Mas with slow hardener and the same glass as you have for my kayak. The outside surfaces of the deck and hull were done at close to 80F. The insides were done colder, probably around 70F. The outside set up perfectly transparent, the inside has lots of spots where the glass still shows, albeit subtly. I would not do the outside surfaces even at 70, I would try for warmer, at least not if you want a really transparent layup.
Just my two cents, lots of others here have more mileage than I do.
Good luck,
Allan Edie
: The hull is sanded, the 3.2 FG cloth is draped/smooth/ready to go
: and almost on cue, the temperatures drop, and it's raining. Temp in
: the shop is
: hovering at 60 degrees F.....
: I know, 70 is better. I'm resigned to waiting, but is 70 really
: necessary? I'm using RAKA with slow hardener (they say 'okay'
: down to 50, but I don't think so).
