OK, so looking at that site, they are using some form of silicone coating with a two-layer skin, the inner skin being Dyneema, not sure what the outer skin was, but something with cotton as at least part of the content.

This begs the question:
Has anyone tried using silicone (or other base) roof coatings for a kayak? I realize that you might be stuck with white (or possibly black), but...
Just thinking out loud here, of course. I have absolutely no experience in this yet.
