Porch paint is tough stuff, I used the water-based variety for the inside of my canoe and several seasons of paddling has'nt left a mark. My concern about using it on fabric would be flexibility, although I guess stretching isn't so much of a problem with poly as with nylon. I suggest you make sure you get the test piece set completely first, then try bending, rolling and creasing it to see if any of the paint flakes.
