I am still laughing....

Just in the interest of disclosure (shortcuts that don't effect end product) here is a close-close-up pic.
Use the quarter for size.

I wrapped the 1/16" X 1/4" white pine pinstripe in a wet cloth where I want to make the bend. Then held it over a flame (my wife's stove) to make steam. Then held it in place with masking tape until dry. Then glued.
Here's the shortcut - the cedar would bend so easy...so I simply sanded the end to a long wedge-shape and started it farther back from the tight curve. So far nobody has noticed.

The design is a Redfish King.
