That's what I have been using for several years, works very well. I have mine installed upside down on the ceiling, out of the way, but I can reach the switch and it's wired into the lighting circuit. It is a great partner for a random orbit sander. Only problem I had was when I was changing the filter element once and dropped it on my head. That's all it took to knock out most of the dust which then went down my neck. Nice healthy hardwood and pine though, not cedar or epoxy . . .
An added benefit when I want to really clean up before painting: I run the fan on max, sweep then blow the dust out of a door or window with a leaf blower. The fan and filter clear the air in a few minutes and very little settles back down.
Don't try that on laundry day or if your neighbour is washing his car though . . .
