I tried to pull one apart and I’m sure if you were
: hanging onto a deck line with your kayak in the surf, your arm
: would come off before the sleeve Maroske broke. With the sleeve
: you get bonding of the glass right through the thickness of the
: deck, not just on the inner surface of the deck.

I hope you have better luck than I had with deck hardware only glued with epoxy.

I tried that years ago and found when it got hot, and my deck got hot, the deck fittings
used to hold shock cord on the decks started popping off at an alarming rate.

Epoxy will soften and fail in high heat situations, like when your boat is on the car or
sitting on shore on a hot summer day. On the water is probably cooler.

If you can't hold your hand on the deck because the sun has heated the dark colored wood,
epoxy alone may fail. That's why I only rely on screws or bolts.
