Check this link from Redfish. This is the method I used. There are some other techniques I have seen add to this method that help. One is to cover the whole layup with wax paper and a few pounds of sand to keep pressure on the curing epoxy. I used a half inch wide seal. I will use 3/8" next time and also will go smaller on the magnets (1/2" to 3/8"). The lip just got too wide and the magnets too strong! The barrier is shelf paper availible at Ace hardware. The rare earth magnets come from Woodcraft. The boat is almost done so I will have some completed pictures soon...if all goes well.
