Jim, I used a Porter Cable jig saw with a new sharp blade. I drew the outline on some masking tape, held my breath and cut it out. You need a little kerf to the blade to give the hatch a little room. I got a little wobble on my cut but once I cleaned it up sandpaper and epoxied the edges I was right where I needed to be on my clearance.

Do mix the graphite powder! It looks great and I wish I had mine when I did it....darn slow mail.

Window privacy....that's what it is. My Ace closed down. I found the stuff I used at home depot, but the stuff from ace is much better.

For pulls I used nylon webbing doubled over and melted on the back side. They are ususally made for deck line holders, but I found they look good and don't detract much.
