I'd try strapping the hull - with the forms in place - with several sets of those rachet straps you use for attaching kayaks to the roof. They're a lot stronger than duct tape, and spread the load along the entire form so you're less likely to damage a strip, as you would by using screws. Maybe use screws afterwards, when things have tightened up, and at least a tad closer to where they need to be.
