: I'd try strapping the hull - with the forms in place - with several
: sets of those rachet straps you use for attaching kayaks to the
: roof. They're a lot stronger than duct tape, and spread the load
: along the entire form so you're less likely to damage a strip,
: as you would by using screws. Maybe use screws afterwards, when
: things have tightened up, and at least a tad closer to where
: they need to be.

I had a similar problem due to summer heat and humidity on a glassed hull but without spreader sticks. I tried a lot of things but eventually built a new hull. I had about ten strap clamps on trying to re-form it to the forms. I'd take up more tension every day. In the end, it cracked on both sides. My skills had progressed to the point I was much happier with the new hull anyway, and I put it in perspective as a lesson learned. A bad day of boat building is still better than any day at work.
