My skeg was two layers of plywood. I epoxy laminated the two layers with glass cloth in between. Then glassed both exposed sides. Then, shaped and fitted it and epoxy filleted it to the keel. Finally, reduced the depth of the skeg by filing, sanding and epoxy sealing between test paddles until the kayak was trimmed wind neutral. It's my first kayak, a lauan Yare.
