: A present for my wife, the John Winters design is 15'6" long
: and weighs less than 50 pounds, all up. Her hull is WRC.
: Interior stems are laminated Douglas Fir, with laminated Red Oak
: on the outsides. Fore & aft bulkheads are minicel foam,
: gooped in place. A Beckson watertight port provides access to
: the aft compartment. She's stable, comfortable, and pretty
: quick. Now, a Great Auk for me!
Btw, that John Winters' design is really interesting. It's fairly wide, fairly short and very quick. Not what one would expect looking at it. It's a very good example of not taking a book by it's cover :)
Also a great example of why short ends work as well as why looking at overall beam means very little.
