I just measured two of mine. From the center of the back-band to the edge of the Track (not the adjustment rod) they measured 39". Actually one measured 38 and the other boat 40" so I split the difference. The footrests are roughly center of the track. That would leave plenty of adjustment for a tall person. I am 5'8" pretty average build height wise. It might be a little to far forward for a really short person? But so far no one has ever had a problem with this placement.
