You might consider shaping (forming, carving) a lightweight wood block to fill the sharp awkward area behind the internal stem. The triangular wedge can be glued in with thickened epoxy which helps fill gaps in the fit. It's easier to lay cloth in the resulting area and the block provides structural support for the toggle handles. This eliminates the need for an end pour which I imagine is an awkward process and possibly adds more weight than a wood block.

: I am still working on my Great Auk 14. I am having trouble making
: the inside stems of the hull smooth enough for fiberglassing.
: Can't get any tool in there to really smooth them. Since I am
: going to do an end pour (probably before I join the hull and
: deck), can't I just do the end pour and forget about
: fiberglassing these two hard to reach areas? I plan on using
: epoxy thickened with West 403 micro fibers to cut down on the
: weight.
