I'm finishing my first kayak, and already starting my second (one for wife and one for meL.
For my stringers i found some clean 2x6x12 fir that i'm going to use. I couldn't find enogh clean cedar this time, and why pay for #1 when i found good fir. Question is can i scarf the entire board before ripping it into stringers without negative effect? The only problem i could see is some latent twist or spring in the boards that i wouldn't discover until i ripped them.
Thanks,
John r
