The drawings were traced, Kirk, the rest is a steady hand holding the burning tool, not much more than a soldering iron with fancy bits. With practice I am sure you can do it. Use scrap wood to try, I think you might find that you can do it. There is lots of info online on proper techniques. That said, a true artistic touch really helps. Had I done the wood burning, I would have ended up with a kayak full of erratic lines that I would have to call abstract art instead of images of people and other stuff.
