I bent 1/4 x 1/4 walnut around the coaming of my guillemot without a hiccup, I did use a steam box. The pieces were in the steamer for 30 minutes when the first piece came out of the box, and as I needed another I pulled it out. Total time for one side of the coaming (three pieces) was 45 minutes. Total time for the two sides was about 2 hours glued and clamped. The walnut bent like it was a wet piece of spagetti. And looks like a million bucks!
