Yeah, clapotis would drive me to frustration now. Remind me to wait a bit (few years?) before I get myself in situation like that.I need experience.

I will second the need for adequate padding in the cockpit. My first couple times out were without any padding, and my hips took the strain. A bit of 4" closed foam, spray adhesive, Marine Goop, and some shaping with a knife and sandpaper, and my hips are happy now. Makes getting in and out of the kayak a bit more difficult, but I'm managing.
