82-85F? 27 -29C, good grief, I'd be looking for the freezer section of a supermarket. For the past few years, my tolerance for hotter temps has dropped, anything above 20C/70F is enervating, specially if there's any humidity. Too hot makes me dumber that normal. :)
The house temp in winter is set for 17C/63-65F.

The trick with cold water washing is to not use the shower, use a "cloth and basin" method. More 'primitive' but less of heat down the drain. :)
