I'm still getting prepared for the build - acquiring tools, deciding on materials and where to source them. Getting the dimensions and other info I need to do a successful conversion of Brian's design has been a bit challenging. I've used GIMP 2 to expand Brian's drawings and pulled the offsets the best I could. It's confusing when sometimes I'm don't know if the drawing line represents the top edge of a piece or the middle or bottom. With what I had I started some rough section drawings. I realized this morning that I was penciling the stringers in with the long side flat against the section plywood like Yost does but in looking at some of the F1 construction photos the stringers are lashed up to the ribs on their narrow side. I haven't decided on section placement or number yet and that may be quite important.
I'm anxious to start the build but not until I've got plans I feel confident with.
