I think the NH would be considered medium or medium to low volume, unless you are building it with the Greenland Style deck.

The high and low volume comes from how much volume there is inside the hull, and/or how much water the hull displaces when it is loaded with a given paddler and gear weight. Some designs have extra space. This increases the amount of cargo the boat can carry. But there are trade-offs.

Many companies have started making low volume versions of their popular designs for smaller paddlers, since the extra buoyancy may not be required.
