My intent of suggesting a rolling recess, though not well stated, was to provide a means to reconstruct a totally new cockpit opening at any new location and of any new size. In the process, opening the deck behind the cockpit also allows easy access to relocate the aft bulkhead if necessary. The recess is a good retro-constructing solution to move a cockpit without over-sizing the opening. I think Wayne Two’s intent is to modify his kayak so it is a kayak he can roll and not make it a dedicated rolling kayak.
