Actually I used 9/16" thick WRC on my Sea Ranger since that's what I happened to have at the time, while it's a bit fragile it's also very light weight :)

I wouldn't recommend it to the average paddler though, it has to be used with a bit of care, the cover on that one though is very tough, used 6 ounce glass over the Dacron also since it's also what I had at the time. Still the boat, even though it's over long at about 18 1/2' long only weighs 34 lbs.
