my 20' sof Baidarka double is 10 yr's old. i put on 10 oz duck canvas, used thompson water seal and latex house paint. it has held up. i just repainted it. we are very carefull with it. we get in and out in the water. we carry it up on the beach and put two foam thick boat cusions under it. is it tough, I think so. I built it to my own plans and took 9 months to build, but I was working full time then. I am getting ready to build a custom 14' type Baidarka with Nicks rear end design in sof and I'll use 10oz duck for that too.
