In Response To: Epoxy: Microballoons (Damian Wentzel)
You can mix just about anything with epoxy. Sawdust, talcum powder, metal particles, corn starch, microballons, collodial silcia, sand etc. The ratio is up to you according how thick you want it. MIcrobaloons make a lighter mixture and easier to sand than other fillers. Fumed colloidal Silica (Cabosil) has the unique advantage in that it won't sag. If you make a fillet, many mixtures will sag whereas cabosil won't. Don't worry about compatibility with brands.
