I lucked out and found an old Singer at a garage sale, cost me $20 CAD. It wasn't working but I was assured it would with a little tinkering in the switch box. Tinkering done, I have a perfectly useable sewing machine which I intend on using to make kayak covers, spray skirts, day skirts and cockpit travel covers. A full length travel cover would be a piece of cake to make, as Paul indicates. I plan on making at least one for Linda's kayak.
