: Saw a guy do it just this weekend. The not-quite-hilarious part was
: his statements as I paddled up to the dock. He warned me to be
: careful getting out of my kayak, since he'd just fallen into the
: river while attempting to enter his kayak. He went on to explain
: how he leaned too far over on the river side, and went over.

: I briefly discussed some stuff I've picked up on... keep low, butt
: on the back deck, don't attempt it when the power boats are
: passing by. He had this stubby & wide rec boat, with a
: ridiculously high seat back, precluding him from sliding off the
: back deck and into the large cockpit.

: By this time, he's in the kayak, less PFD . I mentioned mine,
: noting the high back lets me slip into the cockpit a little
: easier. He pointed out his PFD's existence... tucked away in the
: rear of the kayak, behind said big seat... and said he'd put it
: on if he had trouble. I wished him luck, trying to keep as much
: sarcasm out of my voice as I could. I've got enough problems
: getting into my PFD when I'm on shore, much less when I'm in the
: water. He paddled away, saying he'd do his best to stay dry.
: *facepalm*

I'd like to see anyone try to put a PFD on in the water, pretty good trick if you have practiced it.
