My wife hand-painted the graphic on the bow, lot's of sketch work to refine the design and then just a fine hand. After looking at images of skin boats and canoes for the last several months a graphic at the bow seemed really appropriate.

The paddle was just done quickly for a trip. I took a photo of a plywood paddle blade from the small craft show in MD back in 1997 which used fabric on the blade and always thought that it was a cool effect.
