I have 1" to 1.5" thick minicell pads on the bulkhead of my Cormorant, and they're way too soft and spongy, I'm not at all happy with it.

How much pressure do I put on my footbraces? A LOT. I romp and stomp and make short work of plastic Keepers, that's why I use Yakima, and so far haven't been brave enough to give Seadogs a go yet.

I train like a racer, and hang out with the Texas canoe and kayak racing community. I paddle every day, there's nothing leisurely about my pace, and back home I feel it mostly in my hamstrings. My daily routine has become one hour of really hard paddling in 3- to 4-foot open bay waters followed by half an hour of Greenland-style rolling practice.

Oh, and I don't enter races because I'm too psychotic about competition, and it would make me turn my paddling into serious work. And work is the curse of the drinking class, you know.
