How do you figure that? The bottles have large gaps between them that will fill with water when the boat is swamped. You don't have that with float bags. Float bags only weigh a few ounces, so I doubt that your bottles are lighter. They're a lot less convenient to insert and remove than float bags, so I suspect that you leave them in place between trips. That means that the boat doesn't dry as well between uses.
