In my humble opinion
The words of wisdom of this forum apply: What do you want the phone to do? Don't get sucked into the marketing hype. I have a droid x. Second droid, vast improvement over the first one. Big point: yes it can do many things you would otherwise do on a desktop or laptop BUT IT ONLY HAS A TINY SCREEN and you PAY FOR THE SERVICES
So if all you want is a phone stay away from a smart phone
Re I phones people seem to love 'em almost a cult following, still a small screen.
I often wish I did not pay for 5 phones each month, but it is the only way I have a hope of reaching my wife or daughters--now I have to text them because they won't pick up the phone. Much rather put the money into another boat. But staying married seems a cheaper alternative than divorce and living in a cave along the coast of some body of water living off the land but then again that sounds pretty good.

Good luck, I'm sure you will either be blissfully happy with the choice you make or find the down side for any and all options. Sorta goes with how full the glass is deal.
