Its been a long year, but finally i had the opportunity to launch my night heron between rain storms and hurricanes. The deck is western red cedar w/ ash pinstripes. The hull interior has a layer of carbon fiber between the bulkheads for appearances mostly, not really for the strength but i'm sure it doesn't hurt. I took her to Barnegat Bay, NJ for the initial launch. It wasn't the nicest day and thunderstorms were looming so i didn't venture terribly far from my launch point. Initial reactions are fantastic. The night heron is incredibly responsive and quick. Tracking was impeccable, never had any trouble keeping her straight whether into/with/or cross winds; and it was pretty windy. Overall very happy with my first build, now on to the next!
