I already mentioned in the "Fourum Statistics " thread, that I had glassed the outside of my deck but due to house moving
and all that goes with it, the build had slowed to a virtual stand still and the deck spread by about 11/4" amidships.
I have rubbed down and put a seal coat on the underside now and with a loop around it at each station, have pulled it back
into it's correct dimensions. If I glass the inside I will need to do it in the next 24 hours to get a chemical bond.
To do this I will need to untie all the loops.
What are the implications if, instead of glassing the whole inner surface, I run a glass tape down the centre line and
wide reinforcing tapes in front and behind the cockpit ( I'd be doing that anyway).
My thoughts are: Saves a bit of weight.
Lose a little strength but will this matter on the deck.
Keeps the deck held in shape for a week or so untill I rub down and glass the hull inside and out
ready for closing up. This boat will not be used for rockhopping just a little surf and flat water.
Can't quite make my mind up yet.
Thoughts please! Les C.
