Also, you east coasters miss out on one of the funnest parts of hurricanes as we Gulf Coasties understand them: after the storm abates, the wind dies off to nothing, the sun comes out, and it gets oven-like with extra high temperatures, and a steam bath of the most oppressive humidity ensues since everything is double extra soaking wet. Hyper miserable, and just the thing for facing epic cleanup and rebuilding with zero electricity. Now you know why I'll never budge.......
