Maybe you should do a 1/2 way road trip and stop at Johnson's Workbench in Charlotte. They're now carrying boatbuilding lumber, including green and air-dried white oak and ash, and monstrously sized beams cut-to-order in white oak and Western red cedar for keels and the like.
