JMoore,
I am also working on my first buiild and I am using Raka slow set epoxy. I have found this mixture to be very forgiving. I did not scrub the boat between coats. I did not follow any particular schedule. In some cases there were many weeks between epoxy coats. I did sand lightly when waiting a long time between coats. I also applied second coats in as little as 3-4 hours, when I had the time. You can apply a second coat of glass or resin as soon as the first coat ceases to feel tacky to the touch.
I put 2 coats of glass and resin the the hull (inside and out), one coat to the outside of the deck, two coats separated by a day or two to the inside of the deck and multiple coats to the coaming riser, which I have yet to complete. I have not detected any blush whatsoever.
Plus I live in S. Florida. My first coats were done in temperatures of the 70's, recently I have been working in temperatures of the mid-90's in my garage. Humidity has been all over the place as well. At the current temperatures you have a very short workg window of about 15-20 minutes. So I generally mix batches of about 2-3 ounces of resin at a time, it took 3 batches to coat the inside of the hull, due to short working time and up to 50% of each batch gets wasted.
Perhaps some of the more experienced bulders are cringing at my response to your message. Perhaps I will not achieve ideal strength and durability using my methods. But I can tell you that the stuff that I have mixed sets up hard and is strong and flexible. The hardest part is keeping the glass smooth when working around complex curves, particularily concave surfaces like the inside of the hull.
I hope that this helps. Judging by the contents of your blog, you should breeze through the next steps.
