Now that I've built a S&G boat for my 10 year old son, a Spring Run stripper for me and about to complete a 2nd Spring Run with a custom sized cockpit, I have the bug to build a SOF boat as a winter project.

I've been pouring over all the sites I can find trying to find a design I think I will like but so far have not landed on anything that I "just gotta build". I have studied all the Yost designs and looked at Kudzucraft designs but keep finding myself fascinated with posts where builders have used steamed ribs in lieu of plywood cross sections. I've got it in my mind that building with steamed ribs and a laminated masik will give me more flexibility to have a custom cockpit size (I like a 35" so I can easily pull my knees up) and a deck height that will accommodate my size 13 feet. I would like to build a fairly low volume boat between 16' - 17' about 22" wide.

I am a complete newbie at a SOF so would welcome any advice that might help me find an appropriate design as well as information on building. I've read all I can find so have a good idea what the build process involves but bending ribs to achieve a desired hull shape is something I have not yet found a source for. Looking for some plans.....
