: In the interests of sharing with the community that helped me build
: my boats I finally drew up the plans for my lightweight (6.8kg
: 15lbs) SOF mountain canoe.
: Let me know if you find any errors, its my first attempt drawing up
: some plans and making a table of offsets for a hull.
I got a bit of a shock with the scantlings until I realised everything was in cm as I was raised in a mm or feet world! Looks great; I am a devotee of the lightweight solo canoe and have had a lot of fun out of my plywood canoe (9 kg less seat). I built it out of sheer frustration with hauling a small but hefty rotomolded kayak over the wide field and never-ending beach that separate my favorite launch spot from the nearest parking lot.
However, don't forget to weigh it down if you are on land in windy weather with witnesses around - they're not quite as quick off the mark as a beach umbrella but much more embarassing.
