I bit the bullet two weeks ago and decided to try some of that peanut and bean-based EcoPoxy. I hope the epoxy is better than their public relations...

It's lab results look very promising and I've heard some good things about the epoxy. Anyway, since I'd be using the clear hardener, which is a 2:1 mixture, I ordered one gallon of resin and two quarts for trial on a solo canoe I'm building as a retirement present for my father-in-law. I also bought a 9oz "kit" of a fast set epoxy they had. Figured it would good for quick repairs and bonding hardware. They're based in RI. I have other suppliers in RI (like Jamestown Distributors) and UPS usually has it me in 24 hours. EcoPoxy is a small company so I figured it might take an extra day. A week passed and nothing. So I e-mailed the company. John Marino mailed me back the next day with a one sentence reply saying the order was delivered and included the UPS tracking code. I clicked on it: it WAS delivered.... To Rhode Island!?!?! More correspondence.... Days pass and I finally get in touch with John. He said the package was damaged en route so they brought it back. He reshipped it early this week.

UPS dropped off the box yesterday after TWO WEEKS from my initial order (Ok. Technically 13 days). They even messed up the order! They forgot one quart of clear hardener entirely and the fast set "kit" consisted of only resin!! There wasn't even a packing slip. Here's the real kicker... the order was packed in STYROFOAM PACKING PEANUTS!! Not the biodegradable ones... good, olde fashion styrofoam. How's that for a "green" company?

I'm simply baffled...
