Best thing to do is bring the boat to the shop so you can try it on.
When I built mine I just brought the coaming into the store before I skinned the kayak.
Only thing I have learned is to watch out where the tunnel attaches, I like to sit a bit more forward in my boats, and most of the spray skirts are set up so the tunnel comes out right at the back.
