I have an exquisite paddle that cost more than all the boats I have built so far, but - like Bob - I would like to try BM out on a double bladed paddle. This IS a Kayaking forum, after all!

The second blade eliminates the handle - not a bad thing - but would blades attached at a slight angle mess up the paddling? Or is straight mounting mandatory for the blades? Also, any suggestions out there for adding hardwood edges to the blades?

BTW, I don’t have a table saw so I would use a palm-size router and 90 deg bit for the BM grooves; shouldn’t be a problem. I cut the mast staves with a hand-held circular saw and thickness-planed them with my table router, that should work fine for the paddle.

p.s., senility is a gift, I treasure it. They say the memory is the second thing to go. I wish I could remember what the first one was . . .
