: I just took the back support (foam pillar) out of my Point Bennett
: because I found I was leaning on it too much and the pressure
: points were starting to irritate me. In my plastic boat (Baffin
: by Boreal Design) I let the back band go so slack that I could
: not feel it. At first I had it too tight and, again I was
: getting pain from the pressure.

: There's a lot to be said for sitting up straight. If I want to
: slouch a bit, i.e., recline, I simply lean back against the
: cockpit coaming.

I've taken all the back bands out or same as you just let them be loose too. Good posture has it's own rewards.
