: Historic Greenland kayaks do not have a lip. The tuilik was tied to
: the coaming so tightly that it would seal out the water. That's

I taped my foam down with that plastic packing tape. It holds the foam in place nicely, and since it covers the riser riser as well, it acts as a mold release. I highly recommend a composite coaming after reading above the hassle of building a wood one. The description of the wood process makes the composite construction seem easy.
