I have been reading this forum for the past few months since I started building my first boat (Endeavor 17) in the middle of July. I want to thank everyone for their invaluable information, also, I posted my first question just a couple days ago and immediately received a ton of response regarding steam bending - so thank you.
Another question/concern came up today. I cut out my hatches last week and built the frames for them, I originally bent the pieces to shape by getting them wet. Finished the frames and glued them to the hatches last night. Today when I took the clamps off and tried the completed hatches I realized that they had bent and lost quite a bit of the arc that the top of the boat has. I am thinking about applying some heat with a heat gun and trying to bend back, or even using a strap with the orginal station mold form.
Anybody had the same experience or great ideas?
Thanks again.
