I've got a Wenonah Solo Plus in Royalex in Alaskan Ivory. Way back when it was new, I fretted about the scratches and used lots of cleaners and polishes to try to keep it clean and looking like new. Now, 8 years later with about a thousand miles of river trips on it, the bottom looks like a walrus hide. There are more scratches, cuts and gouges than I could count. The bow and stern got so worn that I had to add skid plates and they are all scratched up as well. Trying to keep a Royalex canoe looking like new is only accomplished by leaving it in the garage. I promise you that you will enjoy your canoe a lot more if you consider the scars on the boat to be beauty marks and lasting symbols of the adventures you had. Have fun in it, take care of it and keeep it seaworthy but don't stress out over how it looks...
